Be a Smart Mommy – Get to Know The BBB and FTC

Published by admin at 8:04 pm under Home Business Tips

Before working or doing business for anyone you haven’t heard of before, or may be having doubts about, thoroughly research the company first and check them out with the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website, which also has a list of work at home schemes and scams to be aware of. Visit the BBB’s search page at http://search.bbb.org/searchform.aspx and simply type in any of the company’s information.

Also, in the event you have already had a problem with someone in relationship to a work at home job, you have the option of filing a complaint with the U.S. government’s Federal Trade Commission (FTC), who won’t be able to actually resolve matters for individuals, but will act within the law should they deem the company in violation.

Complaints can easily be made by phone by calling 202-FTC-HELP (382-4357), or by mail at Consumer Response Center, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580, or via the internet using their online complaint form. You can also request a variety of free brochures on similar consumer issues through the FTC.

Know your rights and be armed with the information you need to make an intelligent choice in the exciting world of working from home. There are indeed lucrative jobs to be had, the key is patiently weeding through all of the rest to find that one gem that will be the right one for you.
